When Fish Took Their First Breath

IllustrationIt is common knowledge that life started in the ocean long before it moved to the land.

Until 385 million years ago only plants, fungi and some arthropods had made the move from water to land, but that was about to change.

Changes on the planet resulted in the increase of carbon dioxide in the ocean which was the push that some fish needed to switch over to breathing air.

Check out this very interesting and informative video from PBS Eons to learn all about this fascinating time in our planets history.
