Why Don't Humans Have Whiskers?

However, cats are not the only animals with whiskers and as a matter of fact most mammals have them. 

That is, most mammals have them except for humans. 

I know, my grandpa always called his facial hair whiskers too, but those are just hairs, not true whiskers.
