Where Does Undeliverable Mail With No Return Address Go?
The U.S. Postal Service gets a lot of bad press because when it is working nobody really notices, but whenever it hiccups everyone hears about it.
It is a very organized and efficient government entity that runs on a surprisingly small budget.
Mail is quickly delivered six days a week to most locations in the United States and is the price of postage is tiny compared to the amount of work it takes to process the mail or package.
So what happens when there is a kink in the system and a package without a return address is unable to be delivered to the original recipient?
This video by the Today I Found Out YouTube channel goes into detail about where this "dead mail" goes and what ultimately happens to it.
