Is There A Christmas Chord?

Unless you're a hermit or live under a rock, then by the middle of December you've probably heard enough Christmas music to last the entire year. 

The songs that seem to stand out always seem to be the ones that were created around 50 years ago, with a few exceptions. 

What do these songs have that make them uniquely "Christmassy" that the others seem to be lacking?
