Have you ever wondered how it would look if you took a vinyl record and spun it until it exploded? 

Well, Gav and Dan of Slow Mo Guys fame had that thought, so they acquired several inexpensive records and made it happen. 

Along with the records, they used a Dyson motor and a Variac to provide the controlled spin and they filmed the whole thing with a Phantom v2640 camera at 12,500 frames per second. 

Luckily they thought ahead and built a small bunker to catch the flying debris, because the pieces that came off were pretty scary looking!
