IllustrationIf you think real hard back to your school-days, you might remember something called the Cambrian Explosion.

This event happened around 541 million years ago and was when most major animals started to appear in the fossil record.

As it turns out, life before the Cambrian Explosion was more diverse than anyone had previously imagined.

This entertaining and interesting video by PBS Eons will give you all the juicy details about this revolutionary discovery.
