Cheetah Cub And Puppy Have A Unique Friendship

Kumbali and Kago runningKumbali the cheetah cub was not getting enough nutrients from his mother, so zoo staff at The Metro Richmond Zoo in Virginia decided to hand-raise him. Cheetah's are anxious, but social animals that need companionship. Other than another cheetah, the perfect companion appears to be man's best friend, the trusty dog. The zoo reached out to many rescue shelters until they found one that was willing to let one of their rescue dogs come meet Kumbali. Kago, a lab mix puppy was introduced to Kumbali and after a short warm-up the two have become the best of friends.
