Scientific research, experimentation, medical advances and technology all have made life exponentially better for humans. 

However, there is a dark side to our scientific past that wasn't remedied until the creation of the Belmont Report in the 1970's. 

Before this set of ethical standards, scientists and psychologists were using humans in highly unethical and even physically harmful experiments. 

This video by SciShow examines five of these horrible psychology experiments that were conducted on human subjects in the past.
