Where Did Popsicles Come From?

IllustrationNow that Winter is behind us and Spring is in full swing, we are starting to think about the impending Summer heat that is right around the corner.

There are lots of ways to beat the heat, such as swimming, eating ice cream, staying in an air conditioned room or you could always just eat a popsicle.

Over 2 billion popsicles are sold in the world every year and there are no signs of that slowing down anytime soon.

So how was the popsicle invented? Who had the idea to freeze flavored liquids on a stick for a cold treat and when did they come up with it?

The Ted-Ed video below will quickly and clearly answer these questions along with a few others you may have had.

Let me know your thoughts about the video or popsicles in the comments section!
