We live in a three dimensional world which makes it hard to imagine exactly what a world with more or less dimensions would look like. 

Quantum physics can be "weird" and is not easily explainable to people that have not been studying it. 

One way quantum physicists attempt to understand and explain the fourth dimension is with the tesseract.
