Have Special Effects in Movies Peaked Since the 90's?

This video by Story Brain, explains why they believe that movies have been ruined by CGI and special effects.  It is an interesting break down that shows how as technology improves, our brains begin to reject the scenes as unrealistic.  What do you think?  Have technological advances actually ruined movies?  Let us know in the comments.
