Most Cancers Are Caused By Your DNA

Illustration of cellsCancer is an indiscriminate killer that affects the lives of millions of people every day.

It seems like the more we learn about it the more complicated it gets, making us feel as if the cure is just out of reach.

When we think about what causes cancer, we think of things like smoking, pollution, the consumption of processed meats and even sunlight.

This study shows us how that way of thinking might be wrong and the cause of most cancers is actually just random errors in our DNA.

That is not to say that those behaviors don't cause cancer, because they do, but they are actually the cause in less than half of the cases.
