History is a subject that we all had to experience for several years in school, so it often feels like we know a great deal about the world and people that came before us. 

Nothing could be further from the truth, however, since much of history has been lost to time. 

But even if we forget about all that is lost and just focus on what we do have in various records, there is much we still have yet to learn. 

In our schools we only teach the things that someone on a committee thought was important and the rest is ignored, so many things are never even talked about. Maybe if they included some more interesting, less important facts then kids would be more inclined to pay attention in class.
